Support for cement and lime plants

Hydrogen in a cement plant starts with separating thermal needs, fuel emissions and process emissions. We help assess hydrogen as one fuel option alongside other energy measures.

Hydrogen fuel substitution does not remove the CO₂ released by limestone calcination. A hydrogen supply project does not make a cement plant zero-emission.

How we can help

Assess hydrogen as one fuel option among others.

Examine the proposed combustion system together with the kiln or burner specialist.

Evaluate power, on-site production, storage, logistics and heat integration.

Outline the development and documentation route.

Inputs

Fuel and heat demand and profile.

Kiln and burner data.

Operating constraints.

Site utilities and available area.

Paid output

A scoped options study with indicative CAPEX and OPEX.

Supply configuration options.

Implementation risks.

Next-step documentation plan.

Specialist boundaries

Combustion changes require validation with the kiln or burner supplier.

Process emissions from calcination require separate measures outside the scope of hydrogen supply.

Estimates state their assumptions and accuracy level.

Schedule and fees

Scope, schedule and fee are agreed in writing for each assignment after a short qualification conversation and a review of the data available. The schedule depends on the completeness of the data and on third parties such as equipment suppliers and authorities. A first conversation to check whether the work makes sense is free; individual analysis and documentation work is paid.

Can hydrogen make our plant climate-neutral?

No. It may reduce fuel-related emissions in some configurations, but process emissions from calcination remain.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

We do not publish fixed prices or lead times. After a short qualification conversation we propose a written scope, fee and schedule that reflect your data and the specialists needed.

A short description of the plant and your goals is enough to start.
